Easy B#tch Margaritas

BATCH not BITCH – f#cking auto-correct.

We love a simple Margarita! Welcome to the best bitch batch margarita recipe.  This tried and true margarita recipe has served as a mainstay of our parties.  Forget the mixes!   This is a classic Margarita recipe you can make in minutes.

Developed in the days of college house parties, this recipe can be inexpensive or not so inexpensive (insert your brand of tequila).  This the best large batch margarita recipe for a crowd.  Just Pitcher Perfect

If you want to make this spicy, slice a few jalapenos (with the seeds) and let them soak in the bottom of the pitcher.

Rim your glasses with coarse salt.  I find that this is easily accomplished by wetting the rim with one of the sliced limes. Fill the glass with ice and pour your tasty concoction.  Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel.

Margarita Ingredients

  • Frozen Limeade
  • Water
  • Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • Tequila

FAQs on Margaritas

What is a ‘Classic Margarita’?

The ‘Classic’ Margarita is a combination of tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice and orange liqueur.

The recipe specifically calls for one-and-a-half ounces of tequila blanco, three-quarters ounce of fresh lime juice and one ounce of orange liqueur.

As the most loved cocktail in the US- we enjoy the classic and many interesting variations in single cocktails and Pitcher Margaritas.

Does the quality of Tequila in a Margarita matter?

Yes, a more discerning palate will be able to taste a superior Margarita with a quality Tequila.  A quality tequila is made from 100% blue agave.  Margarita lovers have been combining higher quality, fresher ingredients, and better Tequilas and Mezcals for premium tasting Margaritas.

How many calorie are in a Margarita?

The number of calories in your margarita can vary widely depending on how it’s made and what ingredients are used, and if the drink is served with ice cubes.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Data Central, there are 274 calories in an 8-ounce margarita on the rocks.  The cocktail includes 36 grams of carbohydrates and 36 grams of sugar.

How do you make a frozen Margarita?

Frozen Margaritas are a perfect cocktail for hot summer days.  Pour the ingredients into a blender, add ice, and mix.  You can keep it icy like a slushie or turn it into more of a blended frozen cocktail by blending it until it’s smooth (both are delicious Marg choices).  A blender full of a batch cocktail is perfect for serving a crowd.

Why do you put an orange liqueur in a classic Margarita?

The best Margarita recipes have included orange liqueur since the 1950s.  Cointreau, Triple Sec and Grand Marnier are popular orange liqueurs used to balance the tart flavor of lime.

What if I wanted a more complex margarita?

Whether you prefer sweet, savory, or spicy, there is a tequila cocktail for you.  Adding pineapple juice or agave nectar can make your tequila cocktail a little sweeter.

Ginger can also be fun to experiment with as it walks a fine line between sweet and savory. Add cucumber, jalapeño, and cilantro for a savory cocktail with a touch of spice. Even better, add a dash of Tajin to a traditional salt rim to ramp up the zing factor.

How many Margaritas can I serve from a pitcher of Margaritas?

A large serving pitcher of Margaritas holds 60 ounces of cocktails.  The Big Batch pitcher would yield approximately 5  12 oz, or 6 10 oz glasses.

How long do pitchers of Margaritas last in the refrigerator?

Great Margaritas for a crowd are always best when freshly made, but Margaritas will last 2-3 days in the refrigerator.

What was the inspiration for the frozen Margarita?

The frozen Margarita was invented in 1971 by Mariano Martinez, a Dallas restaurateur who was inspired by the 7-Eleven Slurpee.
