Why will you love these Bourbon, Cider, and Ginger Beer Cocktails?

  • Easy-to-remember cocktail recipe. It is so nice when a Signature cocktail has an easy-to-remember recipe or ratio because it makes this Fall drink effortless to pull together.  Just remember 2 ounces of Bourbon, 2 ounces of Cider, and 2 ounces of Ginger Beer.  So if you are making cocktails for 3- Your ratio is 6 6 6 – (The Devil made me do it!)
  • So easy to make a Bourbon Cider Cocktail.  Combine your Bourbon together the Apple Cider in a cocktail shaker – Shake and then pour into your garnished cocktail glass filled with ice.  Top with Ginger Beer for a little fizz, and stir – Yummy!
  • Well-balanced. Signature cocktails, like our Bourbon apple cider cocktail, also need to be balanced enough to want to drink them over & over again. It’s hard to appreciate drinks that are overly sweet, & drinks that are too spirit-forward. (HA HA) It’s important to use a real apple cider & not apple juice, so your cocktails are not too sweet.  Similarly, use a ginger beer that has good punch to it, & not ginger ale to avoid the sweetness. So perfect for Fall
  • Great for batches – We call them ‘Batches for Bitches’. The recipe card is written to make cocktails 1 at a time, but this great cocktail translates well to a pitcher for entertaining- Just use 2 cups of Bourbon, 2 Cups of Cider, and 2 Cups of Ginger Beer- and of course ice!
  • Wonderful for Autumn celebrations Delicious for the Holidays.  Serve this apple cider bourbon cocktail at upcoming holiday parties and events. It has all of the best seasonal flavors and is as refreshing as it is cozy. A sip by the fire is our favorite way to enjoy.

FAQs for the Bourbon Cider and Ginger Beer Cocktail

Can I substitute apple juice for the cider?

No, we wouldn’t.  The cider makes the cocktail more refreshing and gives it a rich color.   Bourbon blends and balances so well with the Cider.

What’s the best Bourbon liquor to use?

You can use whatever you have and love will work.  Here we feature Devils River Agave Bourbon.  We are Devils Advocates @DevilsRiverAgaveBourbon.  We love the caramel and Fall flavors with notes of spice.   Devils River Agave Bourbon

Does ginger ale work in place of the ginger beer?

We wouldn’t recommend it. Ginger beer is spicier and less sweet than ginger ale and works better in cocktails.

What type of cocktail glass should I serve it in?

We like serving this drink in a Martini glass.  The Devil horns make a fun garnish on the rim and remind us of the Diabolical one (Old Hornie)

FAQ’s on the Devil and Whiskey

Are there legends about the Devil and Whiskey?

There are many legends.  One memorable legend claimed that the Devil was spotted in the middle of town.  The Wicked One was chased through the town, and eventually he hid in the town’s distillery.  The townspeople searched and searched- but he had made his escape in a whiskey barrel.  Hence, we have the Devil’s cut

What is the Devil’s Cut?

The Devil always demands his share.   The loss of distillate absorbed by the wood barrels is referred to as Devil’s cut.  Moreover, In recent years distilleries have developed processes to agitate and sweat the barrels to release the Devil’s Cut which creates a new blended Bourbon.

What is the Angel’s Share?

As part of the aging process, a certain portion of the liquid is lost to evaporation- seemingly into the heavens.  This is considered the Angel’s share.   In fact, the Bourbon brand Angel’s Envy is a play on this term.  The makers feel their Bourbon is the better portion the Angels didn’t get.
