Materials
Egg Mixture
5Egg Yolks
¾cupSugar
Cream Mixture
1 ¾cupHeavy Whipping Cream
1TbspVanilla
2½TbspUnsweet Cocoa
pinchSalt
Stout - Add when cool
¾cupGuinness Stout
Topping or Mix-in
12Whoppers (or other malted milk balls)finely chopped
Instructions
Prepare the Egg mixture
In a medium bowl combine egg yolks and sugar. Set aside
Prepare Cream mixture
Heat the Heavy Cream, Vanilla, Cocoa, and Salt in a medium sauce pan at low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble at the edges. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat.
Final Mix
Add the egg mixture into the slightly bubbling cream, and stir until completely combined. Set aside and let cool for at least 15 minutes.
Add the Guinness stout and mix well.
Pour your ice cream mixture into 2 Ninja pint containers and freeze for at least 24 hours.
Ninja Creami Magic
Remove a pint of Gelato from the freezer, and remove the lid
Place the pint in the Ninja outer bowl with the paddle lid
Turn the Ninja Creami on, and place the bowl in the locked-in upright position. Push the Gelato button.
Wait for the machine to turn off.
Remove the bowl, and stir in the finely chopped malted milk balls by hand (or serve on top of the ice cream)
